Behaviour as stress

In our home, this simple shift in thinking has made an incredible difference in the way we parent.

In my experience, so many parents today were raised with consequences, time outs and sometimes even spanking as the end result of misbehaviour. It has conditioned parents to treat behaviour as misbehaviour, without ever considering that the root cause may be something else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It takes time and effort, and a great deal of personal restraint and control over one’s own emotions, to help our children, rather than push them away, when we see this kind of behaviour.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
