No. Rest From the Start is completely sleep-training-free, including “gentle” or modified versions. Everything inside supports sleep in a way that honours development, biology, and your instincts. If you’re looking for responsive, connection-centred strategies that don’t involve leaving your baby to cry, you’re in the right place.
Rest From the Start is designed for babies 0–18 months, and you can start at any point. Each module gives you age-appropriate guidance, and the strategies apply whether you have a newborn, a six-month-old, or an almost-toddler. However, if you have an older baby, you may find 1:1 support to be helpful.
It’s not a replacement, but rather a starting point. Rest From the Start gives you the science, clarity, and practical tools to begin making meaningful changes, but it doesn’t replace personalized support. Many families start here and later book 1:1 coaching when they want a plan tailored to their child’s specific needs — everything inside this course complements deeper support. You can also move into Rest Without Rules later. Nothing contradicts.
Yes. Those are extremely common patterns in the first year. The course helps you understand why sleep looks the way it does, how to support smoother rhythms, and gentle ways to shift things if you want to – without forcing independence or restricting comfort.
